The IMIDRO’s Deputy of Mines and Mining Industries stated: SMR technology helps to sustain the steel production chain.
According to IMIDRO's public relations, Omid Emami, on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony for the national semi-industrial SMR project and the inauguration of the sanitary and laboratory wastewater treatment plant of the Iranian Mineral Processing Research Center, noted:
"The SMR technology, after passing the semi-industrial stage, will enter the industrial design.
He continued: by producing samples of iron ore concentrate at the abovementioned semi-industrial unit, the design of pelletizing and sponge iron plant, and subsequently magnetite concentrate production plants will be established in the country.
This semi-industrial unit is being implemented by a domestic knowledge-based company and is intended to convert hematite iron ore into magnetite for use in smelting furnaces.
Complete facilities at the Tabas Mining Rescue Base
The IMIDRO’s Mines and Mining Industries deputy, while referring to the inauguration of the country's largest mining rescue base last week in Tabas, declared: This rescue base was built to improve the safety of coal mines in the region with an investment of 400 billion Tomans.
He continued: The mentioned base is equipped with complete facilities such as surgery and hospitalization departments, relief equipment such as ambulances, firefighting equipment, etc.
"
