Development and Expansion of Iran–Tajikistan mining cooperation with formation of a joint workinggroup

According to IMIDRO's public relations, "Mohammad-Masoud Samiei Nejad," who is traveling to Tajikistan with the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, regarding the potential for mining cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan noted:
"Fortunately, in our brother country of Tajikistan, considering the existing memorandums of
understanding and the untapped mineral and mining industry capacities, it was decided that, in
continuation of previous policies, a joint working group between the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran and the Ministry of Industry of Tajikistan to be formed."
He continued: Within the framework of this working group, cooperation will be pursued in several directions; first, in the reconstruction of Tajikistan’s mining industries through Iranian engineering and design teams.
Second, in the training of Tajik engineers and third, in the design and establishment of an engineering system for mineral processing industries in Tajikistan so that the two countries through this can have mutual and sustainable cooperation.
The head of IMIDRO, referring to the cooperation structure between Iran and Tajikistan, stated:
This working group is responsible for drawing the roadmap of activities and reporting the progress of the work on a monthly basis to the two ministers, so that in case of obstacles, the problems can be resolved with the direct coordination of the ministers of the two countries.
He continued: According to the planned schedule, Iran’s large mining companies and mineral industries will also participate in this cooperation. Additionally, at the recent meeting it was decided that commodity exchanges in the mine and mining industries—especially in the field of metal products for
the construction industry—will be conducted by establishing service centers within Tajikistan so that Iranian products can be offered in the Tajik market.
Deputy Minister noted:
It was decided that Iranian engineers and companies would assist in the design, production policies, and reconstruction of Tajik factories in the tile, ceramic, and cement industries, adding: These co-operations
are in line with strengthening the industrial and mining ties between the two countries and utilizing joint capacities, and it is hoped that with the close cooperation of the ministries of both sides, the implementation of the memorandums of understanding will be facilitated.
