Development Plan.

IMIDRO's Six Productivity Policies in Line with the Seventh Development Plan

According to IMIDRO's public relations, Mohammad-Masoud Samiei- Nejad at the 11th Iranian
Mines and Mining Industries Productivity Award Conference stated: "in order to achieve the targeted 13% growth in the mines and mining industries sector in the Seventh Development
Plan, productivity should be one of our most important priorities."

He added: "In a situation where production and energy costs in the mines and mining industriessectors are converging, and energy is no longer considered a competitive advantage and aprofitability factor, paying attention to the issue of productivity becomes so important.
IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors added: mines and mining industries
companies should pay attention to six productivity principles in their major management.
Therefore, the first issue is the upgrading the technology and modernization of equipment and
machinery.
He continued: Currently, a significant portion of mines and factories are still operating with old
machinery. This challenge has led to increased costs, more shutdowns, and decreased
efficiency.
Samiei -Nejad, referring to the necessary measures for modernizing mineral industries, stated:
Making units smart in line with modern drilling and online systems in the extraction and
processing sector is among these necessities.

The Need and Necessity of Optimal and Proper Attention to Energy Recycling

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, pointing and referring to the energy
challenge in the mines and mining industries sector, declared: "Metal industries are considered
as extreme energy consumers, while weaknesses in heat recovery systems and the failure to
use low-consumption technologies have increased costs and reduced productivity.
He added: "Managers must make the best use of available energy by recycling energy and
preventing its waste

The Necessity of Productivity in Exploration

Regarding the challenge of weakness in principled and data-based exploration operations in the
country, Samiei Nejad noted: The result of this is sub-optimal extraction would be waste of
minerals and increased tailings.

He added: We must invest in advanced explorations, geophysics, and geological models to
improve the productivity of the entire chain.
Referring to the shortage of specialized human resources in new development projects, the
Deputy Minister noted: "In the discussion of productivity, not only machinery is important butalso the skills of the workforce are highly decisive. He continued: Digital integration of thechain, the use of ERP systems or production planning systems, have a direct impact on
productivity."

Research and Development is Not an Expense

Samiei Nejad considered the lack of investment in research and development as one of the
challenges facing productivity and noted: "Iran has always had the least investment in the
research and development sector of industry.
He added: Research and development at the global level is very different from domestic
research and development. Some of our managers have forgotten the issue of research and
development. However, R&D is not an expense, but an investment.
