Iran Becomes World’s 2nd  DRI Producer, 10th Steelmaker in 2020 
                    
                                            
                             Tehran, July13, IMIDRO_ Iran becomes world’s 2nd producer of  DRI and the 10th steelmaker in 2020. 
                        
                     
                 
        
                            
               
     
    
         According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iran ranked as the world’s second producer and Middle East’s top produce of  DRI in 2020. The country’s  DRI production stood at 30, 2 million tonnes during this period, WSA reported.
The global  DRI production stood at 106 million tons in 2020. India with production of 33, 6 million tons was the world’s top  DRI producer.
Likewise, Iran produced 29 million tons of crude  Steel in 2020 and became the 10th top steelmaker in the world. During this period, global steelmakers produced an aggregate of 1,877,500 tons of crude  Steel.
China with production of 1,064,800 tons crude  Steel has the lion’s share followed by India and Japan with production of 100. 3 million tons and 83. 2 million tons ranked in second and third places respectively.
Moreover, IMIDRO (including its subsidiaries and affiliated companies) by production of 18.9 million tons crude  Steel ranked as the 18th top steelmaker company in the world during 2020.
China Baowu Group (by production of 115 million tons), ArcelorMittal (by production of 78.46 million tons) and HBIS Group (by production of 43.76 million tons) ranked as the world’s first, second and third top steelmaker companies in 2020.
